Actor David Duchovny helps the team rebuild a home for a leukemia survivor.
Find your seat and prepare yourself for another touching episode of
"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." This week they head with the team to Lena, Illinois to help the
Stott family.
Joey Stott was diagnosed with leukemia over 4 years ago. The doctors
told her husband Phillip that she would only have a 20% chance of
surviving the chemotherapy and without a bone marrow transplant she
would die. Joey was able to pull through and receive a bone marrow
transplant from an anonymous donor that not only saved her life but
changed the lives of both her husband and 3 children. Once the Stott
family seemed to have their lives back on track, disaster struck the
family home. Faulty wiring in the home caused a fire that left the
home unlivable. The family of 5 now shares a 240 sq. foot trailer. Due
to her weak immune system, Joey must take drugs before even entering
the home because of the mold and mildew that have built up in the walls.
The Stotts are at the end of their rope and looking for help when the
Extreme Team arrives. Viewers can see both excitement and relief in all the
Stott family faces as Ty and the gang meet the family. Story continues here
