The Segway was easy to learn and fun to zip around on. Didn't think any of us could learn within a few minutes, but we did. It all makes sense once you learn more about how it operates. The tour guide had a great sense of humor and I learned more about my favorite city, San Francisco, even though I grew up here. The tour is worth every penny! You'll have more fun than you've had in years. Hoping to return for the advance tour soon. Seems touristy, but it's actually great for locals too. I'm hooked! Hope you'll give them a try. Let's keep this great place in business so we can come back for more fun.

I'm 52 years old and took the tour with my 18 yr. old niece and her 17 hr. old friend. It can be a fun experience if you listen to the guides recommendation to leave a cushion of space between the rider in front. A guest had a fall because of being too close when a rider in front stopped suddenly.

A Segway is a great way to tour and get highlights of what the city has to offer. I felt the tour guides adjusted the tour to accomodate the comfort and skill level of the participants. The group was split in two, and although one group had individuals who were not comfortable on the Segway, that did not hold up our group. The guides split the groups and we were allowed to move ahead and not be held back.

The Segways themselves are a very special experience - they respond to your slightest shift in balance - extremely responsive. I loved the free time on the Horseshoe dock to learn more about how to use it before we headed out into traffic. The tour guide was funny and informative - she was like a mother duck with her ducklings once we did finally get out into the city itself. The only comment I would have is that I got the impression that the last 30 minutes or so were time-wasting minutes (that's the only way I can describe it). She led us around the docks, by the fish houses, here and there without much direction. But really that is a minimal comment and not meant as a criticism. This tour was the best tour by far that I have ever taken!

You MUST take this tour. It was one of the most enjoyable adventures I have ever had on vacation. Worth every penny. I took my 16 year old son (who did not think it would be fun) and he had a blast. After a brief training session we took off and the Segway was so intuitive that it became part of your body. So easy and fun. The guide was funny and instructive about SF history. We motored along about 10 mph along the wharf and city streets very safely. As our guide said, this is the only tourist attraction where WE became a tourist attraction. Dress warm (they do provide jackets and gloves) and wear sneakers. I am recommending this tour to everyone, including the concierge of our hotel.

The tour route was very interesting and included some spots that we would not have seen otherwise. There was plenty of time for photographs and there was even time allowed for the riders to "play" independently on the Segways on a pier at the waterfront. The tour guide was excellent. This was the best tour we've ever taken.... and most fun! Staff was friendly and funny... We give it 10 stars, 5 is not enough! We felt sorry for the tourists on the tour buses... we were having ALOT more fun than they were and still getting the tourist info and facts of the area. We have recommended this to 50 people since we got home. Having the walkie talkies on each Segway was a great way to get the tour facts while still riding the streets of SF. Great experience!! Although I've been to San Francisco a number of times, this was a really unique way to see parts of the city in an entirely new and different manner. Our guide was fantastic and very helpful with both the technical input regarding the operation of the Segways, as well as the narrative about the sights along the way. I had been a little worried about some of the online reviews about how short the tour would be, but it actually didn't feel at all short and in the end there's no question that it was easily worth the cost. My only suggestion would be to keep the "down time" at stops shorter so that you can extend the distance covered and places seen. We clearly were the envy of everyone walking on foot, riding bikes and even those in cars!!! Can't wait to go back for the more advanced tour..... I would highly recommend this tour!!!

For those who have seen Segway but not had any chance of trying it out, this is a good way to do it. The tour operator made sure that the route is safe. And this builds one's confidence and experience level in using the machine. Plus, it is a great way to know the city of SF without "much effort." You also become a tourist attraction of some sort, too, since other tourists tend to take pictures of you and your group zipping by. Overall, it's a fun experience.

If visiting San Francisco you simply have to do this tour!!! I recently sprained my ankle and was worried about operating these vehicles. I needn't have been. If you can walk, lean forward and back, stand up straight...you too can do this!!! It's that easy. Would I lie to you!!!! Trust me...you will finish this tour and want to buy one of these machines...they are totally cool. Apart from the fact that you are operating some amazing technology, you will also receive a thoroughly comprehensive tour of the San Francisco Bay Area. The tour guide (In our case Lilly) explains the local sights by two way radios attached to your Segway. If you don't do this tour then you are missing out on something totally unique in this part of the world. I 360% recommend this tour!!!

What a great experience. First, Carla and Galen both were excellent guides and knew how to add fun to the language of the tour. I appreciated their humor on all counts. Second and most important to me, though, was the riding of the Segway itself. It's difficult to explain/teach the how-to of the mechanics of the machine---sort of like trying to teach a person to ride a bicycle using only words---so the initial hands-on training and the loop out on the pier for reinforcement were both necessary and fun. What a trip!! I'd do the whole thing over in a heartbeat, except I'd do the night tour first and the Saulsalito one next. Loved the wings/pin; it's proudly displayed on my coat collar. I'm just waiting for someone to ask me about it so I can launch into a promo for Segway Tours. LOL.

The booking process through a third party vendor made us cancel one other tour and almost this one. Once we had a correct reservation the tour and operators were excellent! We took the tour on a 60 degree day and really needed gloves. You go faster than you think!

The guide was funny and informative, and very watchful of everyone safety. He was great. The weather was also perfect and the Segways were fun to ride and just challenging enough: I am not usually comfortable on 'rolling' things like skates but I could quite easily ride it, and the more confident people also had a ball. Highly recommended for first-time visitors as well as people more familiar with San Francisco.

My husband wanted to ride the Segway. I was not too sure. The operator/tour guide was a delight. He was very clear in explaining how to operate the machine, to stop and turn. I can honestly say this was THE MOST FUN I had in San Francisco. Beside the fun of riding the machine, we received a great tour of the places we traveled to. I highly recommend this tour with no reservations. It is so much fun.

Enjoyed the equipment, staff, training, location, duration. My only issue was the points of interest on the tour. Because the Segways have limited speed and can be dangerous in traffic, I'm sure we were taken on the safest routes. But behind the cannery left a little to be desired.
