We had SO much fun! We had only done one previous Segway Tour and were a little worried about doing the advanced tour on all the hills. However, Kristen did a great job of giving us the techniques we needed to feel comfortable on all the hills. We had never been to San Francisco before and had only one day to spend in the city. It was an AWESOME way to see and learn about lots of things in a fairly short amount of time. If you are considering this tour, do it! It was worth every penny.

The Advanced Segway Tour was an amazing experience! It far exceeded our expectations and was excellent value. The segways themselves were good quality, smooth operating machines, simple steering and seemed quieter than previous segways I have ridden. We weren't expecting to tour because of the rain & cool weather (May) so were pleasantly surprised that staff offered plastic raincoats & small gloves to wear during our tour. The rain held off but we really appreciated the light protective clothing over our jackets. Even though the segway Advanced Tour was 2 1/2 hours long, we didn't get tired out by standing on segways & still had energy to walk around the waterfront after our tour. The tour guide (Chelsea - love her!) was chock full of information and had a great sense of humour! With the 3 of us and 3 other guests on our tour, Chelsea was able to keep in touch with us via headsets while she narrated many of San Francisco's highlights and buildings along the route. We were impressed with so many details and facts about the city and it's history. Our tour guide (as I'm sure all staff are) made sure to give us upcoming turning directions before entering traffic and was always conscientious of our safety as individuals and as a group. We felt confident riding/driving our segways and even though it was an advanced tour for previous segway-ers? the slightest hesitation going up & down steep hills turned into enthusiastic challenges within minutes! Our pictures show us on our segways, very proud at the bottom of Lombard St. (crooked street) while cars & taxis struggle to make the steep decline! As Canadians, we have a lot of cities with steep streets but nothing like the hills of San Francisco. This Advanced Segway Tour was THE highlight of our vacation and we definitely would book another with SF Electric Tour Company if we get the chance to return to the west coast. Also, liked the certificates and pins that we were awarded. Our family of 3 (two over 60's & one 21 yr. old) think touring the city on a segway is the perfect way to "see" this city! Anybody can ride in a tour bus and look at the sights, but riding a segway IS an experience!

This an excellent tour for taking the segway a bit further that the ordinary tours. Your segway skills will be tested and improved on this tour. Lombard street was a challenge at first, but by the end of the tour it was a piece of change. The tour is not so much about going fast on the segway, but is more focused on the ability to ride the hills of SF. Really enjoyed the tour.

Our segway tour was very enjoyable and we found it to be a great way to see San Francisco. In particular it was a lot of fun to go down Lombard Street - known as the most crooked street in the world. Be aware that they won't cancel for light rain - we had to wear ponchos which detracted a little from the experience. Our guide was also not very keen on letting us take too many photos (not allowed to take photos whilst on segway for safety), so there were a few really great shots we missed out on, but you do stop quite often at different places where you can take photos then. In general the tour was great and I would recommend it!

Segway's may be the best way to see San Francisco because they can climb the hills for you. If they are not the best, they certainly the most fun way to see the City. The Advanced Tour is even better than the standard tour because it takes you through more neighborhoods and gives a better feel for the City. Out tour was the "advanced riders" tour, included navigating Lombard Street ! It was excellent. Our guide took extra care to ensure our safety and satisfaction under unusual circumstances as the tour was during Fleet Week, Italian celebration and while the President's Cup was in play--in other words SF was VERY CROWDED. Multiple streets were temporarily closed off or challenging with congestion. An awesome trip-would do it again in SF with this company. Thanks for the great ride!

The Segway Advanced Rider Tour San Francisco was one of the best experiences we had. It gave us a great opportunity to get an overview of the highlights of San Francisco. The route offers amazing views of the city, the bay, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Brigde, etc. There were plenty of stops to take pictures. My only suggestion is to make the stops shorter because sometimes they were too long and it took time away from actually riding on the segway and seeing more things.

The advanced tour was an incredible experience, and a WOW fun event. Going down Lombard Street was a thrill, whether you are from the Bay Area or any place else in the world. The guides are keen on keeping everyone safe, and know quite a few facts about San Francisco that you won't hear anywhere else. Would be tough to find another way to spend a few hours doing something so exhilarating.

The tour was great! I didn't expect the weather to be as chilly as it was...this was no fault of the tour company. The guide told us about a wonderful Italian restaurant, and I called back the next day for a reminder of the restaurants' name and the tour employee gave me the name, address, phone number and directions to the restaurant! She didn't have to do all of that, but that just shows the kind of service you will receive here. Wonderful!!

It has been one of the most valuable tour I ever done. The stuff are great, professional, competent and very friendly. The segway is a great machine and allowed you to have the best tour ever possible, that because allowed you to see all without any particular effort and at the same time with the access at the most part of the city. well I would say DO IT and you will be as happy as I am :-).

Have done a tour before (in Paris) - this tour had far more health & safety guff at the beginning (some of which was perhaps over the top, but much of it would be useful for a complete beginner). The ride wasn't particularly advanced - but having done it before it wasn't going to be particularly challenging. The tour itself was very interesting - and so the Segway was good as a means of getting around.

I was fortunate to have a small group. There were just three of us. This made for an excellent tour as our guide wasn't herding a group of cattle around. We were able to stop at each point of the tour and spend lots of time there. We also were able to go to spots not on the normal tour. I was quite pleased with the tour and the guide and highly recommend it. I look forward to going back to SF and touring on my own Segway now that they're allowed on the BART system.

This is a "must-do" for San Francisco. The segways are a blast and the tour guide gives loads of fun and interesting info about the city. You can see so much in a short time, and it is way easier than climbing hills for 2 hours. Our kids loved being a "tourist attraction" themselves, as people frequently stopped to take OUR picture! Were wishing we had one to ride in Yosemite, and will definitely plan other vacations around the availability of Segways in other cities. We have gone on Segway tours in Wash DC and San Antonio, TX, and this advanced tour beats them all. Would highly recommend for families with kids. The kids master them before the adults! There are plenty of chances to get off and take pictures or just take a break. Can't say enough about how much fun we had!

Superb experience. Even though we last took a tour many years ago, the Segway was very easy to ride up and down hills of San Francisco. The advanced tour in San Francisco was much better than the basic tour that we took on the Balboa Penninsula (Orange County, CA). Highly recommended. My 13 year-old son had no problems riding. I don't understand why the Angel Island Segway tour requires riders to be 16.

It is a good basic segway tour if you have never been on a segway before - plenty of time to train and not much car traffic. Do this tour first on your vacation to get an overview of SF otherwise it will feel like you have seen all this already if you were there a few days and then went on the tour.

Our "advance riders" tour was great. Would liked to have gone down Lombard twice rather than riding around and around North Beach. Our guide, Carla, was excellent along with Lilly and Amy. This was our second ride around the wharf area with this company; we're considering the Sausalito tour next and have signed up for the Segway tour in Washington, D.C. at the AARP convention. We've taken two Segway tours with S.F. Electric Tours - the Night Tour and the Advanced Tour - and they have both been a blast! Highly recommend to both tourists and locals. I lived in SFO for 15 years and NEVER went to Fishermans Wharf - a real tourist trap - but the Segway tour makes the rest of the Wharf circus worth enduring, and you become the center of attention. It's five stars on two wheels!
